THE ISSUE

The issue with India is then the British took over India because they have a habit of just taking over countries that have lots of money or have a lot of resources. The Indians did not like the British rules and they did not want to pay the British their money to get the salt and cotton that they could get from there own country. The Indians wanted to have there own country and wanted to have there own rules. They did not want the British to take over their country just because they have lots money and has a lot of resources. The Indians rather sell the salt and cotton to the British, but the British did not want to buy it they wanted to get the resources and sell it for themselves. The British just wanted to be bigger and better then all of the other counties. The Indians were not going to live in poverty in there own country they wanted to live in a free country so they can travel were they want and do what they want. The Indians just wanted to be a normal country and then the British came and wanted to take over and they did but with Gandhi they had an easier time with the no violence policy. The war began in 1776 and did not end till 1947 it all began with the British came in to the Middle East India and just started a military very small but no one care because they thought it was not big enough to take over India. Over a 100 year the British built there military in India and made it very strong then started taking over India and India could not do anything because they had very little defense and the British just started making there own rules in India and the Indians could not do anything. The Indians would not take the disrespect from the British which were taking over India at the time. The British just wanted to find more counties to take over if Gandhi did not stand up to the British, the British would probably have own half of the world by now. Gandhi was a very good man. He helped his country through the struggle for independence. He had a good policy it was called nonviolence war. He held his ground if the British put him in jail for no reason he would not fight back he would just go and get out after. He would not fight back if the British would hit him he would not do anything it finally made the British go away because they could not get anything out of him.  I think the British are just plain selfish and have to much stuff. To me Gandhi in like a hero, he saves his country from living in poverty. Gandhi has been to jail several of times and all of the times he did not try to break out.

THE CONFLICT

The conflict in the India struggle for independence is when the British went to Indian and demanded to take over. After the British took over, the rules changed. You were not allowed to go to your religion sessions when ever they would practice there religion sessions the Indians would get wiped by the British and the Indians would not fight back because Gandhi. The British try to open a trading shop in India but the Indians did not let Queen Elizabeth. The next time they try to open a shop they finally opened it on 1614. The shop was for a trading route for the British to sell their products in India. The Indian did not think it was a big deal so they left the British alone but about 18th century the British were deeply involved with the India’s politics. That is were it all started. The British and French had permission to open factories and forts in India. This is when Gandhi came back from South Africa and became deeply in to politics. He had is very good tool which was non-violence. He took back the regions by non-violence.  A big thing they did is the Salt March. This march really affected the country in a good way, it help the Indians.

THE COMPROMISE

India gained independence on August 15, 1947. They established a republic government; the first prime minister of India was Jawaharlal Nehru. The British just gave up because of the non violence of India, the British could not get anyone to buy their products and they did all that they could do to take all of their rights away from the Indians. Also the British felt that it was time to end their rule of India. The British were still somewhat involved with politics in India. One of there actions prompted Gandhi to began a new fast. He was attempting to restart his non-violent disobedient program. All during his efforts in India he was apposed not only by the British, but by other India groups. At the age 78 in 1948 he was killed by a Hindu fanatic.
